A challenging vintage, and this was the only one of the vertical where I felt a touch of evident oak, although it softens and integrates with a few monents in the glass, adding grilled gourmet depths to the sweet raspberry and redcurrant fruits. Clear finesse, you’ll go a long way to find a more enjoyable 2013 St Emilion, but it still bears the mark of the vintage. 85% new oak, 22hl/h yield. Has the advantage of being ready to drink right now, and easily has another decade or more. Harvest October 2-6.
