Château Branon Pessac Léognan 2005
This was a high scorer at the time of release, and it’s doing pretty well at the 17 year mark. Campfire smoke and grilled vanilla bean aromatics show the new oak fingerprint is still going strong, but there are fresh acidities running through the blackberry and loganberry fruits, and at this point the tannins are softened and integrated. Retains life and shape, well within its drinking window. 100% new oak, owner Sylviane Garcin-Cathiard.
