Château Haut-Brisson St Emilion Grand Cru 2020
Located in a cooler site of St Emilion, and you see again how well these cooler limestone-dominants soils benefit in warm summers like 2020, with generous ripe fruits that keep their clarity of expression. Touches of bitter almond, plenty of depth. Good stuff. 3.65ph, harvest September 15 to October 9, 35% new oak, no added sulphur until after fermentatio, to keep focus on fruit. Peter Kwok sold this estate to Stéphane Schinazi in 2019, making this the first full vintage under the new team (which actually is pretty much the old team for now at least).
