Château Rochebelle St Emilion Grand Cru Grand Cru Classé 2010
The push and pull between ripeness and austerity that you find in the Rochebelle 2009 is even more true in 2010. As it relaxes, explosive fruit aromatics appear, with ripe blackberry, black cherry and cassis, given focus and lift by touches of raspberry leaf and white pepper. Black chocolate and truffle add richness, balanced by a salty limestone kick. The most full bodied of the wines in this vertical. It speaks of its vintage and its terroir and it is hard to want a wine to do more than that. 70% new oak.
