Clos Dubreuil St Emilion Grand Cru 2011

The 2011 is in a difficult phase right now, all too often veering towards austere, and that is what I am finding here. Dark berry fruits dominante the opening, linear and pulled together, given form and character by reshing mint leaf and a saline kick on the finish. As it opens, a spicier, more welcoming character emerges, and I strongly suggest a good few hours in a carafe. 100% new oak, Michel Rolland consultant, 6.56ha of vines.
