VIK Cachapoal Valley Millahue 2018
Powerful burst of flavours give a strong opening, this goes long on tar, sandalwood, grilled peppers and liqourice, tightening through the mid palate to show savoury and crunchy blackberry, blueberry fruit, with violet flowers and salted cracker. There is a concentrated ripeness, but it pulls up before becoming overpowering, and no question it is a wine to age, and one with real character. This one is being released as a double magnum available as an NFT (only for purchases from the property or direct from them), reflecting the ambition of a property that was planted on entirely virgin land, creating a new wine region in Millahue with owner Alexander Vik and winemaker Patrick Valette (today Cristian Vallejo is head winemaker). Aged in a mix of oak and amphora.
