Limited-edition NFT ebook of Bordeaux Legends

Jane Anson’s “Bordeaux Legends” is being re-released as a limited edition NFT offering access to exclusive tastings, visits and digital art.

The award-winning Bordeaux Legends is being re-created as a limited edition NFT of just 100 digital copies. This is the first time that Jane Anson has created an NFT of her own – and she is one of the very first wine experts in the world to do so.

“Bordeaux Legends is a book that deserves a richer life, and I wanted to do something spectacular – but that offered practical benefits,” says Jane. “The original book release quickly sold out but was never reprinted. I am regularly asked about how to track down a copy, because it remains the only book ever published that asks the question of how these five legendary châteaux, Lafite, Latour, Mouton, Margaux and Haut-Brion, became the most famous wineries in the world. To have the ability to turn the book into an NFT that offers true utility and access is very exciting indeed.”

Only a short print run of the original book, in both English and French, were released, with later translations into Korean and Chinese. ‘Prices on the secondary market climbed to US$3,000 soon after release,’ says Jane, ‘and only a handful of original copies remain, but as the content creator I could only watch this happening. NFTs allow creators to retain a stake in their intellectual property, which I hope will be useful for authors and photographers in the future – but I also want to ensure that anyone who buys this NFT will see real world benefits, from online tastings to lifetime membership of my site, to joining me on a very special week of châteaux visits’.

Francis Ford Coppola has updated the foreword he wrote for the original, and images throughout the ebook are from renowned French photographer Isabelle Rozenbaum. The book’s cover has been re-designed by groundbreaking digital artist Ian Padgham, whose work has included collaborations with Gucci, Pixar, Vogue and North Face. The Bordeaux Legends NFT is set to be minted with the assistance of Club dVIN, a new NFT wine community in which Anson is a Founding Member.
