Château Cantemerle Haut-Médoc 1855 5ème Cru 2010
Precision, lift, character, liquorice, cedar, cigar box, perhaps less silky and enveloping than the 2009 but this is good quality, with evident finesse to the tannic architecture, and a knitted down understated power. You can approach now, but it will comfortably last for another decade from here. Savoury, far more so than the 2009, totally classy. 40% new oak for ageing, Philippe Dambrine director, Eric Boissenot consultant.
