Château Carlmagnus Fronsac 2019

A clear scrape of salinity on the opening moments, this is loaded with potential but remains bedded down with austere tannins right now. There is juice beneath though, along with lemongrass and raspberry fruits. A 40ha estate (this particular bottling is limited only to vines on the limestone plateau), Arnaud Roux-Oulié is the 3rd generation of his family at the estate, and this is the first vintage with Stéphane Derenoncourt as consultant.
