Château Carmenère Médoc 2023

Medium intensity ruby red, less of a vibrant En Primeur colour than might be expected at this early stage, but the aromatics are clean and welcoming, with soft brambled red fruits, if a little overpowered by smoky oak. There is promise here, and it’s a charming wine, should be ready to drink within three or four years. Eric Boissenot consultant.
