Château Corconnac Haut-Médoc 2022
Majors on redcurrant and raspberry fruits, this is competent, well made, no bitterness, orange peel, mandarin, rosemary, pretty light weight through the mid palate, lighter styled overall, slim and unfussy, early to medium drinking over the next five years. Pairault family, owners also of Ch Thénac in St Julien, clay limestone soils. The colour is a little lighter than some also, surprising for a Cabernet-dominant wine in 2022, but maybe reflective of clay-limestone soils, 15% new oak for ageing.
