Château Croix Cardinale St Emilion Grand Cru 2019
A little austere right now, with angular tannins that still need a few years to soften. Good tension and balance through the palate as it opens up, this is well made, with a clear sense of pace through the palate and carefully crafted blackberry, blackcurrant and redcurrant fruits. A separate estate to Fleur Cardinale, on slightly cooler soils, made by the same team and showing the same detail-orientated approach to winemaking.
