Peony and violet floral edges, this is almost entirely Merlot, and yet the lighter conditions of the year allow the Cabernet Franc to make an imprint, with overall less density than the bigger vintages such as 2015 or 2016, replaced by a moreish character majoring on raspberry and red cherry fruits, with slate tannins and curls of cocoa bean and espresso.
