Château de Carles Fronsac 2021

Crunchy attractive raspberry and red cherry fruit, with the austerity that is relatively typical of Fronsac in the vintage. The estate is undergoing a lot of replanting at the moment, with the uprooting among other things of a plot of white grapes, and is one to watch. 40% new oak. Owner Constance and Stéphane Droulers makes this in the same winery as Haut-Carles. This is a one point upscore from En Primeur.
