Château Fayat Pomerol 2022

Layers of smooth supple chocolate and damson jam, this is fulll-on ripeness, generous alcohols, a ton of brambled fruits with coffee bean and cigar box charring. Don’t expec subtlety, but this has balance and is a good reflection of the vintage and the appellation. There is long-term vineyard work going on here, with new rootstocks that will better resist drought (more typically used in the far south of France). Even in 2022 the yield is impressive for Pomerol at 36hl/h, with 50% new oak for ageing and increasing use of amphora, concrete eggs and wine globes. 70% 1st wine. Vignobles Fayat.
