Château Figeac St Emilion 1946
From Madame Manoncourt’s private cellar, a wine that was bottled almost a decade before the first St Emilion classification was put in place, and a year before Thierry and Marie-France de Manoncourt met. It’s full of soft echoes of tobacco, undergrowth, ash, soot, saffron and fragrant raspberry leaf. Soft, smooth and earthy. Would have contained Malbec in the blend at the time.
