Château Giscours Labarde 1855 3ième Cru 1935

Still showing a core of rose-ruby, though most of the colour is now a soft tawny, with a gorgeous sweetness to the aromatics, soft crushed strawberries, walnut, soy, undergrowth. This still has lift through the palate and although the level of sweetness suggests at the end of its life, it’s hard to say how long has it tasted like this, and therefore how long will it continue to do so. Held at the estate ever since bottling, recorked in the 1970s. Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, although exact blend is not recorded. The bottle had been standing for a few days before opening, not decanted. Emile Grange owner at the time.
