Château Gruaud Larose St Julien 1855 2ième Cru 1997

A great moment to be drinking this wine, making the most of the truffle and tobacco fragrance, finely spun tannins, and the great whoosh of freshness. This is hugely appetising, mouth-watering, wild strawberries and blackberry fruits. An easy wine to underestimate, with it smoky sweetness and subtle pleasures, but it is full of life and smiles at you from the glass – although I don’t suggest leaving it too long from this moment. 30% new oak, harvest Sepember 16 to October 8.
