Château Kirwan Margaux 1855 3ième Cru 2012
In contrast to the 2011, this is generous with a great aromatic punch of dark berry fruits, spices, cocoa bean, espresso. Easy to enjoy, with the freshness that you find in so many of the Kirwan vintages. Softens on the finish, and I wouldn’t expect it to last for as long as some of the more structured vintages in this vertical, but if you pick one wine to drink now, this is it. 51hl/h yield. Eric Boissenot consultant, 40% new oak for ageing. Harvest 28 September to 17 October.
