Château La Serre Saint Emilion Grand Cru Grand Cru Classé 2014
A younger register of flavours here, where the tannins press in more clearly through the mouth as the wine travels through the palate. Just starting to open up, although still young, but you start to see the horizon, the possibilties. Really enjoyable, finely boned, still young, charming and seductive. There was rain here in September 2012, more than in the St Estephe and Pauillac area, but this is lovely, with freshly cured leather and tobacco leaf along with blackberry and raspberry fruits. 50% new oak. Arnaud d’Arfeuille started in February 2013, making this his second vintage back at the family estate.
