Château Latour à Pomerol Pomerol 2021

Ruby red colour, grilled cedar and vanilla pod gives a sweetness and warmth to the opening, and the tannins have softened nicely over ageing, giving a cushion to autumnal berry fruits. It’s pretty open even at this early stage, and these are not wines for long ageing, but it delivers on accessibility. No chaptilisation, no press wine across the whole Moueix range, and oak ageing just a little shorter than usual. Harvest September 23 to October 1, 8ha of gravel and clay, and clay-sand/loam soils.
