Château Le Piat Côtes de Bourg 2024
First vintage of this wine, from a 6ha vineyard on limestone slopes, from Romaine Bellou technical director at Château Couhins. Good aromatics here, clear focus on the sinewy, floral and spicy side of the Malbec, enjoyable well placed berry fruit, earthy finish but well worked in the vintage, spice, lift, personality. Harvest 30 September to 5 October. He has planted Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc, and in 2024 added Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle and Chardonnay. One to watch.
