Château Plantey Pauillac 2022
Pleasingly old school rusticity on the first nose, in terms of the muscular tannin grip, then quickly softens to show sculpted fruit here. Pauillac comes into focus with mint leaf, tobacco, charcoal, cassis, a few stalkier rosebud and raspberry leaf touches close things down on the finish, but this is an enjoyable wine. 25% new oak for ageing, gravel soils, Claude Meffre owner.
