Château Quintus St Emilion Grand Cru 2013

These were the early days of Château Quintus, just after the purchase of Château L’Arrosée, moving this newly-created estate up to 28ha from the original 15ha (although production remained almost exactly the same after intense selection in 2013). This is narrowing in on tertiary flavours, with edges of rust and earth alongside soft rapsberry fruits and campfires smoke. Oyster shell and soy on the finish give a saline lift. 25% of overal production in the 1st wine, 43% new oak for ageing, harvest September 30 to October 9.
