Château Rieussec Sauternes 1855 1er Cru 1997

An excellent vintage for Sauternes, and this Rieussec at that stage of sweet wines when they are almost bone dry on the finish, with the sweetness coming through instead in the silky texture, and a kick of opulent mango on the opening. Tawny in colour, the dominant flavours here are marmalade, mandarin, lemon, bitter almond and white truffle.
