Château Rocheyron St Emilion Grand Cru 2017
A complicated vintage but Rocheyron delivers, showing delicate rosebud and raspberry leaf character, and a subtle gourmet generosity. This is almost aporoachable now, certainly in a year or two, with a tightrope walk of floralily, sharp minerality and cool blue fruits, very much a physical experience in the mouth. Widens through the palate into creamy raspberry, blueberries, smoked earth, saffron and fennel. A frost vintage, but only impacted the lower parts of the Rocheyron vintage, so almost no impact on the estate’s main wine. 30% new oak for ageing, organic farming.
