Château Troplong-Mondot St Emilion Grand Cru Mondot 2023

Inky plum colour, lush texture, dark berry fruits, salted cracker and touch of ink, this is aged on the lees and I get a little reductive note right now. Extremely drinkable and bright, and this has the lift that makes it so juicy. No new oak for ageing, 50% in tanks and 50% in neutral oaks. A 2nd wine to buy. 53hl/h yield. First time to have a serious amount of Cabernet Franc in the Mondot, now including some recently acquired plots, even a slice of Cabernet Sauvignon, but co-fermented with the Franc.
