Château Yon Figeac St Emilion Grand Cru Classé 2019

The touch of Petit Verdot makes itself felt in the dark colour and the blast of spice. Expect a little austerity at this point, so suggest waiting a good few years to let things soften and balance. It’s full of silky, enjoyable, well-worn tannins, but there is a spike on the finish and a kick of spice. A yield of 42hl/ha. Owned by Alain Chateau, consultant Christophe Ollivier with Michel Rolland. Tasted twice. Upscore from En Primeur.
