Clos du Milieu Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux 2021

Touch of reduction of first nose, with a whisper of gunsmoke, and the berry fruit has density and freshness, cut through the mandarin peel, with a juicy finish and tannins that are present but not aggressive. A lovely wine, and always enjoyable to see a good new name in Castillon. Harvest September 21 to October 2. Around 5,000 bottles production, located in Castillon-la-Bataille, right next to Montlandrie. Owned by the Angélus team but with unusual soils for the appellation of deep clay with very little limestone, planted entirely to Merlot.
