Clos Dubreuil St Emilion Grand Cru Grand Cru Classé 2022
The last vintage to be made under Benoit Trocard, and the first one as a Grand Cru Classé following the recently published St Emilion ranking – both things that make this absolutely a wine to look out for. Plenty of muscular layers of tannins, well built, lovely tangy, saline lift and a pummice stone and chalk texture, slowing down progress through the palate and allowing the juice to build. The fruit character is dark and brambled, but there is light let in among the concentration, alongside sweet toasted vanilla bean and bitter chocolate. 60% new oak, 30hl/h yield. Tasted twice. Heavy bottle.
