Clos Rougeard Saumur-Champigny Le Bourg 2015
Ripe red fruit and blackberry aromas introduce a rounded palate with fresh earth, chopped herb and black fruit. Fleshy and concentred, if not as juicy as the 2017 or 2009 Les Poyeux. I enjoyed the wine’s mid palate finesse. While some will disagree, oak-derived notes contributed to slightly hard tannin on the otherwise long finish. 100% new oak.
