Deep red cherry aromas combine with subtle fresh earthiness suggesting beautiful refinement once it ages. Made from Cabernet Franc vines (some nearly a century old) from several clay and limestone plots. Also striking: crystal clear fruit purity in a most delicious, juicy palate that excites both senses and intellect – excellent showing from the most “basic” of the three reds from Clos Rougeard. No new oak for the 24 months ageing, then 4 years in bottle before release.
