Clos Saint-Martin St Emilion Grand Cru Grand Cru Classé 2019
Generous but controlled, and a great example of how Clos Saint Martin has dialled down the overt oak while still retaining a generous, welcoming feel. This is really gorgeous, one to recommend and look out for. Feel the limestone undertow, but not austere even now. Vinified in a mix of new oak barrels and clay amphora of 3hl and 5hl. A yield of 37hl/ha, with harvest from 19 September to 8 October. Tasted also at a recent vertical of the estate, so this is second time in a few months, an upscore from En Primeur.
