Le Nardian St Emilion 2020

Part of the Jonathan Maltus stable, this is frrom vines located to the south of Branne in Lugaignac, Entre deux Mers, on south facing clay over limestone soils. The muscadelle is a small part of the blend but it dominates the nose, giving fragrant waves of white flowers, and gentle spice on the attack. Less rich than in some vintages, there is a clear desire to rein in some of the past excess of this wine, despite the low 22hl/h yield, and you find juicy pink grapefruit alongside creamier lemon curd and peach. This was the first of the garage whites that you can now find produced by many top St Emilion estates. 50% new oak.
