Medium deep crimson. Fresh blackcurrant, cedar, roasted chestnut aromas with dark chocolate notes. Classically structured wine with enormous presence. Profoundly complex blackcurrant, cedar notes, fine grainy tannins, beautiful mid-plate volume and viscosity, underlying roasted chestnut note and integrated mineral acidity. Lovely sheen, density and complexity. One of the greatest European wines of the 20th century. Still in suspended animation.
