Château La Croix de Pez St Estèphe 2016
Supple texture, with impressive and enticing depth to the plum colour. Doesn’t quite live up to expectations on the paate, this is constricted by the tannins, and the bright blue and black fruits struggle to make their presence felt. A lovely kick of acidity on the finish but lacks generosity at this point. Philippe Guyonneau is owner at this 7ha property, at this point just a few years into the project, as the first vintage came in 2014 – one to watch over the next few years.
