Château Rochebelle St Emilion Grand Cru Grand Cru Classé 2009
Black cherry, raspberry and blueberry fruits, with a slight touch of austerity to the tannins. Gentle waves of flavour grow in the mouth, with pencil lead and tobacco leaf as everything unrolls. These are wines that you need to sit with, to allow the subtlety to reveal itself, and to enjoy how the chalky texture slows things down. 28hl/h yield after hail early in the season. This is a late-ripening sector of St Emilion and is almost always among the latest to harvest (almost always in October). 70% new oak.
