The austerity is clear after ageing with a solid construction of black fruit, incense, and black tea, with limestone sculpting giving lift and juice. Precise, enjoyable. 50% new oak. This for me punches above its weight, and is a rare two point upscore. Set up at 90m in Castillon just over the border from St Emilion and avoided the frost.
